What you are looking at is called a GEM, Global Electric Motorcars. It is the first multipurpose Neighborhood Electric Vehicle (NEV) available for sale from a major automaker, Daimler-Chrysler. GEMs are engineered to meet federal safety requirements for street-legal use as a Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV).

Since it doesn't use gasoline, MPG ratings don't apply. For us, it's all about range .. how far we can travel on a single charge. Many different elements effect this number, including: temperature, terrain, driving conditions, payload, driving habits, batteries, tire pressure and tire wear.

It costs just a few pennies per mile to operate, produces zero (0) tailpipe emissions and up to 99% lower emissions than gasoline and diesel vehicles.
